On November 2nd, 2015, LACO was awarded an ISO 9001:2008 certification. The certification was an important step for LACO as it further ascertains the company’s commitment to quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
The ISO 9000 family addresses various aspects of quality management. The standards provide guidance and tools for companies and organizations who want to ensure that their products and services consistently meet customer’s requirements, and that quality is consistently improved. (International Standards Organization, 2015)
Quality contributes to business success and, ultimately, a nation’s prosperity. Standards provide the tools and processes to ensure it does just that. (Naden, 2015)
Good levels of quality in products and services don’t just make our day-to-day life easier, they are good for economies by helping businesses boost sales, manage risks, contribute to innovation and ensure corporate responsibility. (Naden, 2015)
ISO International Standards provide an essential foundation to help organizations ensure and improve quality. ISO 9001, for example, sets out the requirements for a quality management system applicable to all types of businesses, regardless of size or sector. It is based on a framework of continuous improvement that helps optimize work processes so that quality prevails and organizations continue to thrive. (Naden, 2015)
LACO’s ISO 9001:2008 certificate
On February 24th, 2014 LACO has introduced Low Pressure Molding Service to its customers. Utilizing the MoldMan™ machines and Macromelt® Polyamide Thermoplastic molding materials, LACO’s molding process ensures an encapsulation that always matches or surpasses most customers’ expectations. The low injection pressure into the mold results in a smooth and non-invasive process even when it comes to the most fragile electronics.
Currently, LACO uses the low pressure molding technology for automotive industry to waterproof connectors and to add effective strain relief. The use of adhesive compounds prior to molding further improves the mold quality and results in a minimum IP 67 ingress protection – complete protection against dust as well as protection against the effects of water immersion between 15cm and 1m for 30 minutes.
The ever-growing need for protecting electronics spans over a wide spectrum of industries. Whether the protection is against particles, such as water and dust or protection against outside influences such as UV radiation, vibration, and temperature, LACO is equipped to handle its customer’s needs from design to implementation.
